Kate’s Mind

September 3, 2018

This is it! I’m constantly looking for new avenues to communicate and new things to explore: blogging. At 29, 80% of the past ten years have been spent studying at the University of Minnesota Duluth (then added in a year of residency post-graduate training for good measure).  Now, with three degrees and barely two years of official “adulting” my focus is work-life balance, emphasis on life.

Getting my first job after college was refreshing. Gone were the long days of studying in the library,  replaced by Netflix binges and endless Target runs. After the initial shock and awe of this new found freedom wore off, I started thinking there had to be more to life than “eat, sleep, work, repeat”. It became easy to be a homebody, but there had to be more to life than this.

That’s when I made the decision to do more. More traveling, more hiking, more cooking, more cleaning (ha, just kidding), more reading, more “yes” less “no”. Going on a couple of adventures hasn’t changed my introvert tendencies overnight, but it’s all progress. By writing it all down, I’m hoping to discover a little more about myself and share my small adventures with others. So, here we go..
